“What a night!! Talk of the Town were fantastic from point of booking all the way through the night itself. Tom was super approachable and helpful, replying quickly and making himself available to all of our questions. When it came to the performance, they brought the energy and fun we were hoping, the dance floor was packed all evening. They also performed a wonderful version of Frank Sinatra, The Way You Look Tonight for our first dance which was really special. If you are looking for a band who interact with the crowd, provide an incredible array of song choices then look no further!! “When we were looking for the band for our wedding we wanted a band that had a wide variety of songs from different eras in their reptetoire with the ability to perform big, powerful ballads and that is exactly what we got with The Amps! It was daunting trying to look through the number of artists on Alive Network but as soon as we heard Sue's incredible voice we knew they were the band for us ...”“When we were looking for the band for our wedding we wanted a band that had a wide variety of songs from different eras in their reptetoire with the ability to perform big, powerful ballads and that is exactly what we got with The Amps! It was daunting trying to look through the number of artists on Alive Network but as soon as we heard Sue's incredible voice we knew they were the band for us and booked them. As we got to within a couple of months of the wedding I dropped Sue a message. She called me back and was really helpful and reassuring and put me in touch with another member of the band, Martin. We arranged a call to go over the details. Martin was friendly and welcoming straight away. Never having booked a band for an event before we didn't know how much or how little we would need to be involved but Martin simply went through a few details with us then handled the rest. Prior to our wedding, Martin took the trouble to edit a pre recorded dedication together with our choice of first dance song so that it all went smoothly on the night. He also sent over their set list so we could make any special requests. On the night, the band set up quickly and without fuss and had a playlist on to get guests warmed up as early as they could. Martin had a quick chat with me about timings for the evening for our cake cutting and first dance, then as soon as that was complete they went into their sets and had everyone up on the dancefloor for the rest of the night, even finishing with a couple of encores They were then good enough to leave a playlist running whilst they packed away meaning that we had music right up until the end of the evening. Overall everybody from the band, particularly Martin was very helpful and communicative in the run up to our wedding. That's not to mention that they are also frankly brilliant at what they do. Sue's voice is incredible and the recordings we had heard before, as good as they were don't do it justice. Many guests commented to me how much they enjoyed the performance. They even got the seal of approval from a few people who I know are musically hard to please!! All in all a brilliant night, enhanced by The Amps and we would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.” Read more
