Ed known professionally as Ed The Piper, is a highly experienced Highland bagpiper with over 25 years of performance history. Based in Sheffield, he has travelled widely across the UK and abroad, bringing the iconic sound of the pipes to events of all kinds. His career includes performances for high-profile clients such as Sir Alex Ferguson, as well as exclusive appearances at VIP footballer events in Majorca. Whether performing for a small, intimate gathering or a large public audience, Ed takes pride in crafting moments that are memorable, meaningful, and deeply connected to the occasion.
Piping Background
Ed’s piping journey spans military, competitive, and stage settings. He served for eight years as the head bagpipe tutor in the British Army, where he played a key role in passing on piping tradition and technique to the next generation. He continues to teach both adults and children, offering lessons online and in person. A seasoned competitor, Ed has performed with multiple pipe bands across the UK and has earned numerous championship titles. He is also a member of the Celtic rock band Gaelforce, performing regularly at festivals and venues throughout the UK and beyond. His style blends technical mastery with expressive flair and a genuine love for the music.
