British baritone and pianist Oliver Davis is recognised for his versatility across opera, oratorio, English song, German Lied and choral repertoire. He is the First Prize recipient of the 2026 'Passaggio Vocal Award'. Oliver read Music at the University of Southampton, where he was awarded the 'Heather Award' for his final-year recital at Turner Sims Concert Hall. He is currently studying the MA in Music Therapy at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, alongside vocal studies with Adrian Thompson and piano studies with music therapist Judith Nockolds.
?Oliver performs regularly with the Crouch End Festival Chorus and Lux Aeterna. Through these engagements, he has appeared with ensembles including the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, London Mozart Players and Czech Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed alongside internationally renowned artists including Andrea Bocelli, Hans Zimmer, Dame Emma Kirkby, Sir Bryn Terfel, Masabane Cecilia Rangwanasha and Dame Sarah Connolly. Notable concert appearances include Verdi’s 'Requiem' at the BBC Proms 2024; Handel’s 'Messiah' with the London Mozart Players; Andrea Bocelli’s 30th Anniversary Tour at The O2; and the 25th-anniversary performance of Sir Karl Jenkins 'The Armed Man' at the Royal Festival Hall, conducted by the composer.
As a soloist, Oliver has performed major choral works including Handel’s 'Messiah', Mendelssohn’s 'Elijah', Stainer’s 'The Crucifixion', Mozart’s 'Requiem' and Fauré’s 'Requiem'. His recital repertoire encompasses English song, German Lied and operatic scenes, and he has collaborated with distinguished pianists and musicians including David Owen Norris, Francesco Izzo, Jack Gonzalez-Harding and Duncan Honeybourne. Duncan Honeybourne accompanied Oliver in the final round of the John Ireland Prize in 2023, while recent recital engagements have included Schubert’s 'Winterreise' with pianist Emilie Turner-Großer.
?Oliver is also an experienced recording artist and has recorded at Abbey Road Studios, AIR Studios and Miloco Studios with the Crouch End Festival Chorus. His studio work includes music for film, television and commercial recording projects. Recent releases include Good Omens 3 for Prime Video and Muse’s album The Wow! Signal. He also appears on Signum Records’ recording of works by Parry and Elgar, featuring the world-premiere recordings of Parry’s De profundis and God Is Our Hope and Strength.
