Full Biography
60s and 70s Rock Revival
60s and 70s Rock Revival are a young 60s and 70s rock collective from Brighton and London, four to eight players deep (three for the acoustic set), playing Zeppelin, Purple, Sabbath, Bowie, Hendrix, Free, Fleetwood Mac and the deep cuts either side. Technically a tribute band. Actually a rock and roll rave inside a time machine.
Who said only dads can play #dadrock?
No wigs, no costumes, no medleys. A young band playing this music the way they fell for it, loud and slightly out of control, with mashups of their own and songs that run into one another with no gap for applause. Guests expect a covers band and get a rock and roll rave, and it works as well for the people who saw these bands first time round as for their kids.
Experience
Their own club night has sold out a 130 capacity London venue three times and a 150 capacity venue in the Netherlands, and took 164 tickets in Brighton. They have played the Super Funk retro festival at Thruxton Race Circuit, the main square stage at Monument Festival in Zierikzee, a biker rally at Plumpton Racecourse, and a long list of weddings, birthdays and corporate nights. They hold 10 out of 10 from 39 reviews and 5.0 from 48 verified reviews on other booking platforms.
Line up options
- Three piece acoustic: guitar, mandolin, percussion and voices
- Four piece: guitar, bass, drums and a lead singer, with backing vocals
- Five piece: adds keys, who sometimes doubles on guitar
- Six piece: adds a second lead singer
- Seven and eight piece: add one or two dedicated backing vocalists
Weddings often take the acoustic trio for the ceremony and drinks, then the full band after dinner.
What they bring
PA and monitoring for 150 to 200 guests, all their own backline, and an oil projector and lamp set that transforms a room. On request: a full wall of working vintage televisions, a hazer, and a DJ set after the band. £1m public liability insurance and PAT tested equipment.
Sets
Up to two hours as standard, longer on request. Mixed classic rock sets, or with enough notice a themed night: Zeppelin against Deep Purple, a psychedelic sixties night, a glam night, a Christmas or Halloween edition. They learn two client requests with a month's notice.
